Dear members,
What a great week as Ballarat, Berwick and Gippsland came together to protest the proposed cuts at Federation University - slashing 19% of all jobs will harm staff and students, but threatens the very future of the university and regional education in Victoria.
Well done to Mt Helen staff and students on the strong turnout at yesterday's rally! Here's a link to some photos on Fed's Yammer, but if you can't view them see below for a taster of what happened at the Berwick, Mount Helen and Churchill rallies with video and photos from the event.
Several journalists attended Mount Helen once again: our message that FedUni must stop these cuts is being broadcast loud and clear! Here are some of the other media clips of the rallies fromABC Ballarat and the Australian Financial Review.
We'll be calling another all member meeting soon to reflect on our week of protest, update members on consultation on the "Future Fed" cuts proposal, and discuss the next steps in our campaign.
Let's keep up the fight and keep the pressure on!
Solidarity,
NTEU @ Fed
