5 Steps to a Safer Workplace

This week, we're focusing on the "5 Steps to a Safer Workplace" as part of our ongoing WHS education series. We encourage you to get involved and help create a culture of safety and well-being in your workplace.

To kick things off, we're launching a hashtag campaign on social media. Share photos of yourself taking one of the five safety steps and use the hashtag #NTEUSaferWorkplacein5. We'll be reposting the best submissions to inspire others and showcase our collective commitment to WHS.

The five steps are:
1. Understand your WHS rights and responsibilities #KnowYourWHSRights
2. Report any hazards or incidents to your supervisor #SeeItReportIt
3. Engage with your HSR or union on WHS matters #HSRsInAction
4. Participate in WHS training and consultation #ConsultationMatters
5. Look out for yourself and your co-workers #CollectiveCare

We also want to recognize members who are safety role models. If you know someone who has driven successful WHS initiatives through worker involvement, share their story with us. We'll feature the best case studies in future updates.

For more insights on the importance of WHS, check out Shane's video. Remember, a safer workplace starts with each one of us. Let's work together to create a culture of safety and well-being. #NTEUSafetyFirst

Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to get involved in our WHS education series. Together, we can make a difference.
