Statewide Rally for Higher Education

Swinburne members joined with thousands of colleagues from all Victorian Universities to rally for changes to the Higher Education sector. Trades Hall was turned into a sea of purple as NTEU members crammed into every available space.

Several impassioned speeches spoke to the universal problems besetting our sector. Increased managerialism, deficient university councils, unmanageable workloads, the casualisation of the sector, wage theft, and more.

With many members unable to enter Solidarity Hall, we left the hall to join comrades at the Eight-Hour Monument. There we passed a motion in favour of escalating industrial action across our state.
