Historic win at Western Sydney Uni

NTEU members at Western Sydney University (WSU) have just won better workplaces. By standing together, they've achieved a historic improvement to job security, leave entitlements, restructure and redundancy protections and more.

What members won:

  • 150 new permanent jobs
  • 25% reduction in casual academic labour
  • Professional staff work from home rights
  • Super paid on unpaid parental leave
  • 20 days gender affirmation leave p.a.
  • Real restructure protections
  • 4.6%-6.4% pay rise in 2022 (weighted to lower paid staff)
  • 14.2%-16.3% total pay rise (compounded)
