NTEU members at Western Sydney University (WSU) have just won better workplaces. By standing together, they've achieved a historic improvement to job security, leave entitlements, restructure and redundancy protections and more.
What members won:
- 150 new permanent jobs
- 25% reduction in casual academic labour
- Professional staff work from home rights
- Super paid on unpaid parental leave
- 20 days gender affirmation leave p.a.
- Real restructure protections
- 4.6%-6.4% pay rise in 2022 (weighted to lower paid staff)
- 14.2%-16.3% total pay rise (compounded)
The win comes off the back of a strong, member-led campaign including recent strike action.
