Workloads@Griffith are Broken

12 June 2026

Have you experienced workload burnout? You are not alone.

We are calling all GU members and university staff to join our Workloads@Griffith are Broken Days of Action to make our voices heard.

RIGHT NOW, your workload conditions for the next several years are being negotiated at the bargaining table. Whether you're an academic juggling research, teaching and admin, or a professional staff member absorbing the effects of restructures and rising demands.

The pressure is real and it's affecting not just our wellbeing, but the quality of experience we can offer our students.

Other universities have already secured stronger workload protections and managing change clauses for their staff. GU can too, but only if we show up together!

Can you bring a co-worker! These events are open to all GU staff, not just union members.
